Important Info:
Welcome to [info]icon_textures. This community is for sharing textures you made yourself. They can be icon-sized (100x100) or bigger, the size doesn't matter, as long as it's textures.

If you are only here to check out/download the textures posted here you can WATCH/FRIEND. the community. That way you will have this community on your friends list and you can keep up with the textures posted here. You do not need to be a member here to do that.
Posting Rules:
1. This community is only for posting textures. Please do not post bases, brushes, gradients, stock images, tutorials, finished icons, questions on how to make or use textures or help finding textures. There are other communities for those (see below).

2. If your preview image is BIGGER than 400 pixels wide and/or 400 pixels high you have to put it behind an LJ-cut, or re-size it. This is an LJ-cut (copy and paste):



3. Please only make a 1 post per day. If you have multiple texture sets to post, place them all in a single post, or post them on different days. If you do put multiple sets in a single post, only one (1) preview image is allowed. Previews for the rest of the sets must be under a LJ-cut. Also please link directly to the entry/page/site where the download link to the textures is located, not just to your LJ main page etc.

4. Links to textures must be publicly available (ie, not friends/members-locked, this includes "this post will be locked in ___ days") and the textures has to be un-protected. That means, no passwords or comment requirement what so ever. Members must be able to simply click to the download area and get the textures without having to comment, requiring passwords, membership, being friended, or logging in to access them etc.

5. Do not disable comments on your entries.

6. Do not add colors to the text (pink, yellow, black etc.), change the font size, or font type, just leave it as it is. The colors, size and font type will change automatically according to the community layout and peoples friends lists.

7. Do not "members lock" your entries. Always make sure all your posts are set to "Show this entry to: Everyone (public)".

If you lock your post, ONLY members here, (those who clicked the join button here at icon_textures) can see your entries. This is an open community and we want everyone to see and download all the textures posted here, but if you members lock your posts, that is not possible.

8. Please include a short description of your textures when you post here: What kind of colors are there, what type of textures (grunge, flowers, foggy, light (see the tags for available types/themes) etc) and the size of the textures. This will help when organizing the tags and make it easier for people to find what they are looking for here. This will also benefit you, as people will be able to find your textures more easily in the future when your post is no longer on the first page of the community etc.

Tip Use www.box.net, www.mediafire.com or DeviantArt.com to upload your textures. These hosting sites will not expire, so your textures will be available to people for a long time.
